a true 1987 Shadoe moment...

On a hot summer night, Elton John came to Chicago to promote an album "Reg Strikes Back" , performed a private concert at a local reciorduing studio. I was a Music Director of a Bloomington,Il. soft rock station, and was invited to attend by the record lablel rep from MCA.

Oprah was there, some of my favorite Chicago rock radio personalities (among them Bob Stroud, Garry Meir, Patti Hayes), other regional radio folk like me, and Shadoe Stevens, who looked creepily older than you'd think.

A leathery face of wrinkles, serious turkey neck, and wearing a miami vice style suit .

"what a jive looking guy" I thought smugly, wearing my gray acid wash jeans.

No, I haven't seen Traxx starring Shadoe Stevens. However I do recall that it was one of the first feature films to be released direct to video. As a boy, I couldn't grasp that concept. I had never heard of it and didn't see any reviews so I never rented it. Isn't he a cop who wants to be a chef? And the cover had Shadoe holding an egg beater like a gun?
