I remember reading that wired article years ago that the guy's book is based on ... probably helped form an opinion or two on how I see things now. As to the article's author, I come at it from the other direction ... he's sees the fragmentation of mass culture as a thing to worry about while I think it's enabling folk who wouldn't otherwise have a shot to make their mark and gives everyone a choice in what they want to learn about. Mass media gave us just what they wanted to but now we get to decide our 'programming. I think it's neat. Thanks for listening, crank!
