Crank saying he's listening to Rush gave me mega-ditto upchucks. Thankfully, it was the other Rush.

For some of you...count your blessings you aren't aware who Tyler Perry is.

(I don't remember seeing him in Star Trek)

@tricklight: Man I wish I could've met him... I've never read anything by him I didn't like and his forwards and notes always seemed pretty personable. Ihavn't read "ANight in the Lonesome October" but it sounds interesting from the description I saw.

@thebizz: I still havn't seen JCVD, but I keep hearing good things about it. Never heard of Ben X.

@luckymustard: "In the Night Room" was the title. It was a good book, but out of the three of his I've read I think I like Shadowland the best.

thanks for listening (or not),
crank!

also, crank, what is the title of the peter straub book that you recently read? it reminds me of the movie "stranger than fiction".

Tyler Perry is totally awesome to some folks, personally I've never seen any of his films. I haven't heard the show again so my comments will be out of context but that's just how I roll. I just recently saw Ben X and JCVD. One of these movies has subtitles the other would have benefited from them at any rate I thought both movies were great though completely different.

The broad scope one film deals with teenage suicide the other an aging superstars downfall. Maybe they are kind of similar.

I thought the Star Trek Movie was pretty good but I swear that Kirk did nothing but get the crap beat out of him.

Crank, I've read everything available by Roger Zelazny. He was my favorite writer when I was in high school. He's like a hard boiled Moorcock. I recently re-read a couple of his books and they held up pretty well. I met him in the late eighties at a convention in Detroit and he was very cool.

I think "A Night In the Lonesome October" should be adapted to a comic book or a TV limited series that has one episode a night for the entire month of October (the book being a chapter for each day).

I should have written this as an e-mail, but I wanted to look at Kirk feeling up Spock, knowing how much fan fiction such images have inspired. Okay, inspired is a strong word.
