Crankcast Week 176 – 20090221
Late but present.
This week on an unenthused episode of the Crankcast… Taber’s on and you’d think he’d be excited, it being the Oscars and all, but he isn’t. Not even any picks for this year. You do get to hear him go on a tirade towards the end of the show, so that’s fun.

The DVR rant reminds me of my Charlie Wilson’s War DVD. Where the FBI warning is, they put in a sob-a-thon trailer telling the story of some lady in Africa who gets AIDS and isn’t it sad… when I’m not filled with anger for paying good money for this DVD.
This is the story of Chris Taber. He has a case of non-expandable DVR. Listen to his day, how he struggles to keep his DVR levels down. Be sad. He needs your help. Calls your congressman now.

Taber couldn’t be more wrong about F13 or more right about Time Warner’s DVRs.

@Paul: the story of Taber is sad indeed, so send your money to me and I’ll make sure he gets it good. Right? RIGHT!?
@Matt: sorry, but that’s how it works out.
@Henrik: thanks for the head’s up!
@Noel: seriously? you gave a vague noncomittal non assurance of Fritt Vilt? I mean I know it didn’t bring anything new to the table but the movie was beautifully shot and had more suspense than most of the latest hollyfare. I finally saw the new Prom night and that was complete crap compared to it. yeesh. har.

Gotta say, loved Crank’s laughter during the monkey story. Especially “hehe with a knife”.

I agree Taber. International was awesome. I wish the last Bond movie was as good as it.

Re: Cold Prey. There’s a difference between suspense and lack of forward momentum. No matter how beautiful the backdrop.

You are not a bad person for laughing the monkey story, I laughed so hard I had tears.

Cold Prey II is great! its basically a Scandinavian remake of Halloween II but directed with BALLS.
Recommended indeed.
