Hey, guys, great episode, even though my e-mail got skipped. Maybe next week, although I’m gonna post about it here anyway, cuz I need answers! I saw a trailer for a movie that I’m not sure ever got made called The Machinist. Not the one with Christian Bale. This guy is like a cross between the Punisher and Batman, with boots and gloves that have retractable blades. I found it on a website about Steve Zuckerman’s music and other works. He did the music or sound for the trailers for Meteor and The Black Hole, and also did the Capital I and Lowercase N songs from Sesame Street. Anyway, I figured that if any group of people would’ve heard of this movie (The Machinist), it would be one of you.

You start off a promo w/ “The end is nigh!”, I’m scared that Mike and Crank are going to announce that the Crankcast is going on Hiatus.
I know it’s going to stop someday, but I hope no time soon.

The Coen Brothers are from Minnesota, oh yah. That’s why Fargo’s as it good as it is, dere, doncha know. It’s as good as tater tot hot dish. And we’re much prouder of the Coens than of that Diablo Cody, ya know. She didn’t live down here in Mount Rose, MN, oh no. She lived in the Sin Cities, aka Minneapolis/Saint Paul. (bonus points for getting the movie reference in there that’s not Fargo or Juno).

Other Jason… Fargo! that’s what I was trying to remember when we were talking about that. Tater tot dish? I love tater tots.

The first one makes the mistake of putting the tots on the bottom. The tots should definitely be on top.
The site where I saw the trailer is http://www.musicz.tv/ Follow the link on the bottom right for videos, then click on the Classic Trailers with the picture from the Black Hole. The Machinist Trailer is the second one, after Meteor. Maybe one of you will at least recognize the actor, and I can go from there.

Taber, I watched most of last year’s 8 Films to Die for, and I thought Gravedancers was pretty good too. I’d also say that Penny Dreadful was worth your time as well, though. It’s about a girl that, due to past experiences, is afraid to be in a car. Imagine the worst thing that could happen to you if you had that fear. It was pretty intense, and pretty good.

Thanks for the correction Sean. In fact, the cinematographer is Darius Khondji, the man behind the washed out looks of Se7en, Delicatessen and City of Lost Children. He is one of my favorites, and is also the DP for The Ruins, which I am looking forward to. The book was great.
