Go Crank on the old school movies. If you like some Cary Grant and with your mention of the term charade, you should check out the movie of the same name. Also “To Catch a Thief” by Hitchcock with Grant is good stuff. Aside from Cary Grant flicks, check out “The Thin Man” from 1934. It’s a hilarious drinking, mystery, detective, comedy. One other of note that is just plain good is “The Sweet Smell of Success” with Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster from 1954. They both play pretty evil bastards.

    I’m still digging Sono Morti.

As for learning guitar, I recommend a piece of software called Guitar Pro. It’s an awesome little learning tool.

A happy Crankcast?! A Crankcast with music interludes?! What, is this 2007 again? Anyway good show, see you guys in KC.

Crank your going to impulsively drive down right? I’ll buy you some Oklahoma Joes BBQ Sunday…

  3. Paul Says:

A DDP G.I. Joe commentary track would be so awesome! :)

  4. G. Noel Gross Says:

    Hobophobic. Genius!

I smiled through every minute of G.I. Joe.

  5. Spooky Says:

Is it me or does the episode repeat at the 43 minute?

  6. Ron Says:

I agree with Dan, Guitar Pro is great.

  7. pete repeat Says:

Yep Spooky.. it did that for me too.

I downloaded it the first time and it repeated around that time.
Then downloaded another time and it also repeated but not exactly at the same spot?

    Haven’t tried a 3rd time yet.

both times was from downloading it directly from this site and not with itunes.

    Just checked. 43min 13seconds-ish.
“On a similar note, they’ve been showing another show to fill in the Friday slot” then who-do again.

  8. luckymustard Says:

spooky, it repeated for me too, but at about 15-20 minute mark.

  9. crank! Says:

@Dan Carr: thanks, I’ll check em out. Thanks too for listening to the album.

@Brian: sorry I missed it, I love BBQ and free BBQ is even awesomer.

    @Paul: it’d probably be incoherent.

@G. Noel Gross: if only it were a crank original!

@Spooky, Pete, lucky: that’s wierd. The source file is ok and when I double checked the file on the server it checked out. Does it come in at the right total time, even with the repeat?

  10. pete repeat Says:

    Hi Crank!

3rd time I downloaded it repeats @ 25min-13seconds and the length is saying 50min-20seconds overall.

The file I downloaded the first time which repeats around the 43min-13seconds mark says it is exactly 1hour overall.

The second one I downloaded repeated before 43min in.. cant remember exactly and not sure how long it was.

I’ve also never been able to download files with Getright from this site either?

Not sure what is wrong Crank, but it seems it is different each time.

Anyways. Hope this is helpful in sorting out what ever it up.

  11. Spooky Says:

Yup, it’s ends at the right total time even with the repeat. I’m currently trying it again downloading it from the site, and I do another download from the RSS. I’ll get back again afterwards.

  12. Spooky Says:

    Well, both files where incomplete.
The first file has a total running time of sixty minutes and a repeat. It ends with the GI Joe stuff. And the second file has a running time of forty-one minutes and ends at the start of the GI Joe talk.
Conclusion: GI Joe ruined the podcast.
